The Grade2XL webinar will be on Thursday 7 March at 13:00, this time the topic is “Principles of Absolute Environmental Sustainability Assessment”. In this Grade2XL webinar the two speakers, Michael Zwicky Hauschild (Professor, Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering, DTU Technical University of Denmark) and Stig Irving Olsen (Associate Professor, Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering, DTU Technical University of Denmark), will present how we can assess whether our products and systems stay inside “the planetary boundaries” and thus are “absolute sustainable”. It is observed that the environmental pressures caused by human activity increasingly challenge our planet. A number of researchers have therefore aimed to identify the capacity of the earth to embrace those pressures. They identified nine, so-called planetary boundaries that represent the carrying capacity of the planet and that should not be surpassed in a sustainable world.
