Aluminum is the most widely used metal in the light metals portfolio, with many applications spanning transportation, packaging, and construction and other key markets. Advances in alloy technology and processing methods offer opportunities to enhance product performance, improve process efficiency, and reduce costs.

However, a number restrictive issues such as decarbonization, energy constraints, material scarcity, and rising costs are a challenge for promising aluminium applications, and these issues could hinder the development and implementation of innovative, cost-effective aluminum alloy solutions.

To discuss these items, M2i, in collaboration with the Dutch Aluminium Association (DAA), is organizing a one-day thematic workshop. The event will focus on exploring  opportunities to enhance innovative aluminum technologies and the ensuing products, and identifying options for support through collaborative initiatives with the academic sector.

The event will take place on 18 June 2025 at Koninklijke Metaalunie, 3439 NJ Nieuwegein. Registration is already possible via this link.
