Dr. ir. Marnix Wagemaker will receive a Vici grant of 1,5 million from NWO. Marnix is getting this grant to investigate the inner workings of batteries. Marnix intends to unravel complex processes by means of a series of new, experimental tools such as NMR spectroscopy, synchrotron and neutron radiation.
Marnix Wagemaker is a project leader on M2i-TTW project ‘Hybrid solid electrolytes for safe high performance Li-ion batteries’. The key objective of the project is to design a novel hybrid solid electrolyte battery for electrical vehicles. Within the development of the new battery the aim is to improve both safety and the performance of the battery.
