December 6 was the closing date for submission of project proposals to the eight HTM call. This call is led by STW and addresses the priority areas of the roadmap Hightech Materials (top sector HTSM), the roadmap Chemistry of Advanced Materials (top sector Chemistry) and the topic Materials for Sustainable Energy (top sector Energy).

Several universities have submitted 9 proposals in collaboration with various industrial partners and M2i. Among these are current M2i partners Prorail and Tata Steel, but also new collaborations have been established with Brightlands Materials Center and RAMLAB. With the wide range of topics, including Thermoplastic Composites, Hybrid solid electrolytes and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing, the call was fully filled.

The materials calls are organized by Technology Foundation STW, in cooperation with the Materials innovation institute (M2i) at the initiative of the Top Teams of the Top Sectors High Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM), Chemistry and Energy.

The next HTM call is scheduled for summer 2017 and will also be led by STW.
