Professor Rob Mudde has been appointed Vice Rector Magnificus/Vice President of Education (VRM/VPE), also vice-chairman, of the Executive Board of TU Delft. The Supervisory Board of TU Delft has appointed Rob Mudde with effect from 1 March 2018.

Rob Mudde is Professor of Multiphase Flows and interim chairman of the ‘Imaging Physics’ department at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the TU Delft. Here Rob is daily supervisor and promotor of M2i-TTW project ‘Low Prandtl number mixed convection in wall bounded coarse grained porous media – application to blast furnaces’. The project focuses on the blast furnace process, which converts iron ore into liquid hot metal, and how strong local non‐uniformities (‘hot spots’) arise in heat transfer.
