The two ASPECT  demonstrators are now running at the partners Opel and Philips.

On these demonstrators mimicking the conditions from the production, physics-based models are used to predict temperature-induced effects on the tribological conditions. The Swiss company inspire has developed an adaptive control system, which is currently being implemented in the industrial demonstrator lines. The control system will detect increase in friction beyond the process window and instantaneously adjust the process parameters to correct it.

A third, smaller scale demonstrator, has been built at the ASPECT partner Filzek TRIBOtech in Darmstadt, Germany – and will be used for education purposes, also after the end of the ASPECT project. The next public demonstration will take place during the practical training “Friction effects in sheet metal forming”, on the 22nd October 2019.
