It is our pleasure to present you our Annual Report for 2009, the second one of the Materials innovation institute M2i. In this report you will find our results and efforts together with all our partners and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, paving the way for the years to come.
M2i has achieved new breakthroughs in materials technology with considerable impact, not only for the Dutch industry but also for our society. We will continue to further strengthen the concept of a public-private partnership, and to keep focusing on innovation and valorization that leads to sustainable economic growth.
In 2009 M2i realized a strong growth despite the world-wide financial and economic crisis. The research capacity increased by more than 30 researchers as a result of the growth of the number of partners during 2008 and 2009. We are proud of having achieved this result and we look forward to continuing this success in 2010 and beyond.
