M2i organizes an SME day for casting companies - Heat treatment of cast material (ferro/non-ferro)
On Friday, the 21st of May M2i together with NVvGT (de Nederlandse Vereniging van Gieterijtechnici) organises the study day for Dutch foundries on heat treatment of cast material.
During the last 10 years M2i (NIMR) has built an expertise in casting processing and is one of the leading research organizations in the Netherlands in this area. M2i constantly works on knowledge transfer to the industry. One of the M2i knowledge transfer programs is developed for small and medium size enterprises (SME’s). The program for the day can be found here.
The idea behind this seminar is twofold: first of all, to explain (based on the M2i expertise) main parameters and mechanisms of heat treatment of foundry aluminium and cast iron alloys, including homogenization, quenching and ageing of different groups of alloys. An invited speaker, Mr. Cees van Eldijk from TDIvalueweb, will tell about the development of cast iron with superior properties: Advanced High Strength Thin Ductile Iron. And secondly, to introduce M2i and its program for Dutch SME’s working in the casting business. At the end of the day the tour around the M2i/TU Delft experimental and research facilities will be organised.
