The Materials innovation institute (M2i) and the Maritime Innovation Platform (MIP) took the initiative together to organize a thematic meeting in composites for structural applications on the 3rd of December 2010.
The objective was to generate an overview of the ‘white spots’ in the underlying knowledge which is required by the Dutch industry in order to successfully grow the market.
The focus of M2i is to development of fundamental knowledge related to the performance of the final product. This means modelling ànd validating the influence of the production process and the circumstances/loads during use of the final product.
The outcome of the workshop will help to set the future direction of M2i Cluster 4 “Hybrid and Composite Materials”.
The workshop was attended by a total of 102 people, of which 78 people from 64 businesses.
The results of the workshop will be available on our website soon.
