M2i is able to provide solutions for developing comfortable, safe, sustainable and user-friendly material and production processes.  Prominent universities and authoritative companies share their knowledge in a public – private cooperation within the M2i program. Knowledge sharing and open innovation are needed for the application of new materials into the various links of the value chain.

Enabling the industry to develop new materials and their applications is the core business of M2i.

M2i has built an international network of top level universities where the researchers are placed to perform the research. By organizing regular progress meeting we ensure that both industrial needs are well looked after.

M2i actively stimulates co-operation between its industrial partners. This can be partners in different market segments dealing with similar challenges, but also projects where different partners in the value chain cooperate to come to solutions.

All M2i researchers have a contract for a limited period of time (2-4 years). After this period M2i actively stimulates the researchers to pursue their career at one of our partners thereby offering the industry highly educated well trained employees.

The costs for the research project are equally shared between the industry, the academia and the Dutch ministry of economic affairs. In this manner M2i offers the industry a cost effective way to do your research.
