Introduction
M2i helps SMEs developing novel material solutions by organizing awareness projects in which new materials knowledge is made available and by performing SME cluster projects in which a small research program is performed for a temporary cluster of SMEs. Furthermore, SMEs have access to M2i’s research, facility sharing, and flying squad activities.
Support
M2i is supported by the Dutch ministry of economic affairs and has become an excellent example of public private partnership. This allows M2i to keep the costs for the research and valorization activities very low, making it even more attractive for the industry to participate.
How does it work?
The research themes in the program of M2i are determined by the needs of the industrial partners. In practice those needs are determined by economic growth and by the potential realization of societal themes.
