This research theme focuses on developing a fundamental understanding of the mechanics and physics of structural and functional materials at different length scales, in order to predict accurately the material’s properties in relation to the underlying multi-material microstructure.
Processing technologies of functional materials
The main challenge in this research theme is to obtain greater fundamental insight and understanding of processing and assembling of functional materials at the micro, meso and nano length scales in order to guarantee the desired level of reliability in the resulting products.
