European Centre of Excellence

stock europa_146x97The strategic decision to focus on achieving international growth will attract more European universities and companies to participate in M2i. International participation in transnational (Eureka clusters) and EC Platforms (JTIs, ETPs, PPPs, FP7) as well as interaction with EIT/KICs (climate, energy, ICT) will provide a stimulus in this regard.

International researchers, together with European universities and industrial partners, will transform M2i into a European hot spot for materials technology with an international reputation. M2i will attract top-level partners from abroad to guarantee a world-class program for innovation.

ERA-MIN

M2i is the Dutch representative in ERA-MIN, a European network program on the handling of raw materials in industry. This program covers the area of primary resources, secondary resources (recycling) and new materials and substitutes that use less scarce resources.

In this European initiative, M2i is responsible for developing a national network on the handling of raw materials, including the development of a joint call for research proposals with the involvement of national organizations. M2i’s activities in the ERA-MIN Consortium are closely related to recent activities on the topic of materials scarcity, such as the materials scan of the Dutch technological industry (performed with TNO) and other M2i publications.

The ERA-MIN Consortium is currently composed of 11 partners from 9 countries.
